Original creation by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
Terra Magnifica, 16 exceptional evenings in aid of the GoodPlanet Foundation
Culturespaces joins forces with the GoodPlanet Foundation to present TERRA MAGNIFICA, an original creation by Yann Arthus-Bertrand for the Atelier des Lumières. For the occasion, the Atelier des Lumières, Paris's leading digital art center, is exceptionally opening its doors on weekday evenings throughout the All Saints' Day vacations.
Daytime immersive exhibitions (Klimt, Hundertwasser, Poetic_Ai, Colours x Colours) are still displayed on until 6pm.
An exclusive event at the Atelier des Lumières
Since its opening on April 13, 2018, Atelier des Lumières has been opening its evening programming, offering a journey through time and space with TERRA MAGNIFICA. This new creation was created from the incredible collection of images filmed around the world, drawn in particular from the film La Terre vue du Ciel, produced in 2004 by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
“The Earth is Art and the photographer is only a witness to it.” Yann Arthus-Bertrand
From the sky, continents, elements and human constructions offer a kaleidoscope of colors and geometric shapes. Visitors fly over these landscapes, which, seen through the lens of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, become unique artistic compositions. The images reveal the traces of Man on Earth visible in the landscape. But above all, TERRA MAGNIFICA shows man as a formidable builder. The monuments represented, bequeathed by different civilizations right up to modern megacities, are testimony to the creativity of the human species.
This new temporary digital experience built by Spectre Lab, in 7 sequences, offers total immersion in the world's most beautiful landscapes, from the origins of the earth to the present day.
To promote the development of culture in all its forms, Bruno Monnier, CEO of Culturespaces, and Yann Arthus-Bertrand have joined forces to produce these sessions in aid of the GoodPlanet Foundation, which supports solidarity projects around the world.
Each evening will conclude with footage from Woman, the upcoming film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Anastasia Mikova to be released in September 2019. Excerpts from the not-for-profit film will open up reflections on Man's life on Earth through the place of women in the world.
